In the vast tapestry of life, some threads weave together in unexpected yet beautiful patterns. For me, cycling and real estate have been such threads, intertwined in a journey of self-discovery, perseverance, and service.
Back in 2000, life was a whirlwind of long work hours and unhealthy habits. But amidst the chaos, a realization dawned – my health was non-negotiable. So, I embarked on a transformative journey, reclaiming control over my well-being. Completing my undergrad degree was just the beginning; it led me to a job in Los Angeles, where I found myself amidst a community of kindred spirits eager to embrace fitness.
Our small cycling group burgeoned from humble laps around the Rose Bowl to sprawling adventures across Pasadena’s streets, Griffith Park’s trails, and eventually, the breathtaking coastal roads. Weekends blurred into months, and months into years, as we chased the rhythm of our pedals and the whispers of the wind.
But cycling wasn’t just about physical exertion; it became a conduit for camaraderie and compassion. In 2006, we pivoted from personal challenges to collective missions, participating in benefit rides supporting causes close to our hearts. These rides weren’t just about traversing miles; they were about traversing empathy, raising funds and awareness for those battling diseases like MS, Arthritis, and Breast Cancer.
The pinnacle of our cycling odyssey came in 2008 with the California Coast Classic – a grueling yet gratifying 525-mile journey along California’s coast, all in support of the Arthritis Foundation. Every pedal stroke was a testament to resilience, every mile a tribute to the strength within.
Today, 16 years later, I still find solace in the rhythm of my bike, knowing that each revolution is a celebration of health and vitality. As I approach my 70th year, I’m gearing up for another Coast Classic Ride, dedicating it once again to my daughter and all those battling the insidious grip of arthritis.
But this journey isn’t mine alone; it’s a collective endeavor, a testament to the power of community and compassion. I invite you to join me, to pedal alongside in spirit or support, as we strive to find a cure and alleviate the burden of arthritis for generations to come.
Just as I’ve helped countless individuals find their dream homes, let us now come together to build a brighter future, one pedal stroke at a time.
I encourage anyone reading this to partner with me and contribute to finding a cure. My webpage is:
